Kyle J. Bowersock
About

Researcher by method. Designer by trade. Painter first.

I'm a seasoned UX and CX leader with a track record of building and scaling design practices from the ground up — at agencies, at consultancies, and inside some of the most complex service systems in the country. My work spans healthcare, financial services, and government: modernizing the platform that adjudicates Medicare Part B claims, redesigning fraud services at a top-10 US bank, making the CFPB's financial education resources accessible to everyone who needs them.

The method underneath all of it is the same: comprehensive research, honestly synthesized, translated into strategy that a business can actually execute. I've led hundreds of workshops and user interviews. I'm a facilitator by temperament — the best insight in the room is worthless until the room agrees on what to do about it.

Today I balance my time between Intuit, where I'm a Staff Service Designer working on the Global Partner Program and Credit Karma, and Zoolytix, the company I founded to bring evidence-based socialization tools to animal shelters. I taught myself Flutter, Node.js, and React to create the working MVP of its product, because I believe the fastest way to validate a design is to use it.

Before any of this I trained as a painter — a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design before the M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul. I still paint big, write, make music, and study cosmology.
